The Grasslands Risk Map (v2) is provided by the Central Grasslands Roadmap Initiative and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. It provides a biome-level assessment of the primary drivers of grassland loss — cropland conversion and woody encroachment — categorizing the landscape into core intact grasslands, areas under immediate threat, and areas requiring strategic restoration or reconnection. This layer helps prioritize conservation actions where they will be most effective.
